In 1966 the ASICS Stripes were developed in advance of the 1968 Mexico Olympics. “Limberup Clarino”, the first shoes with the ASICS stripes is now revived as “Mexico 66” and loved by people all over the world as the standard item of Onitsuka Tiger. Asics Stripes has been a definitive sign for the athletes of all over the world since then. The commemorative model is going to be released to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the birth of ASICS Stripes. Crouching- start style graphic (called “victory man”) printed on the upper is the design that appeared on the cover of the 1966 Onitsuka Tiger catalog. The name “V40” came from the “victory man” and 40th anniversary. Logo image with the Mexican hat was also used in the catalog of 1968 and the design of stadium printed on the upper is the “Aztec Stadium” in Mexico.
